In some regions of India, white peas are also referred to as vatana, safed watan, or sukha matar. Primarily grown in North India and certain areas of West India. Before packing, these white peas are mechanically cleaned and hand-selected to assure their cleanliness and ensure that they are nutritious, palatable, and cook evenly.

White peas, or Vatana, are little powerhouses that add Vitamin C, and E, carbs, a considerable quantity of antioxidants, and more to your daily diet. A quarter or more of the daily required consumption of thiamin, folic acid, iron, copper, potassium, phosphorus, manganese, and magnesium can be found in white peas.

White peas are used to make Misal pav and even ragda patties, two popular Maharashtrian street foods. They can be utilized to prepare dal. Additionally, they can be used to prepare soup.
