Indian boondi is a fried chickpea flour snack that can be eaten as a sweet dessert or as a salty snack. The dish is known as Nukti in Sindh. The dish is known as Nukti in Rajsthan. It is referred to as Buniya in Nepali.

In North India, boondi is frequently used to make 'raita'. The dish raita is made with curd. Curd, boondi (which has been soaked in water to make it soft, then sieved and added to the curd), and seasonings like salt, spices, chili, etc. are the main ingredients in boondi raita. Additionally, it can be dipped in sugar syrup. It is consumed with pulao or any other meal as a side dish.
